Red Wings' Development Camp Journal
Alaska Nanooks senior forward Ryan Hohl spent a week training and practicing in the Detroit Red Wings development camp, July 8-13. Here in his own words is a summary of the experience.
"Overall, I felt it was an extremely beneficial experience for skill development
and some new conditioning and strength ideas. They preached their systems and the importance of them a lot throughout the week. I felt that their overall philosophy was very similar to the one we have at Alaska. Also, the drills we did throughout the week are similar to those we do in our practices. We focused a lot on D-zone and offensive entry: again same exact philosophy we portray. My plan is to continue with my training and include some of the new things I learned throughout the week for the next month and a half. At this point I’m just going to keep focusing on skating, and training for the rest of the summer. I hope all is well. I can’t wait for the season."
